Configuration Management

Overview

Time and time again, companies realise that they are becoming ever more dependent on their technology; so much so that any changes to client workstations have to undergo rigorous change control otherwise the environment will be compromised!

The Y2K bug highlighted the importance of change control and management of the production environment. An enormous amount of effort went into ensuring that the hardware and software was tested and verified. Any subsequent changes to these had to be carefully controlled and managed.

Our approach is very rigorous and clearly identifies and manages any changes to our client's environment.

Stage I - Identify all the components, versions and client-specific changes, which will be made. Prove and verify that the changes are compliant and that they in no way compromise the production environment.

Stage II – Release the change into a test environment, which is a copy of the production environment. Again prove and verify that the production environment is not compromised.

Stage III – Release into the Production environment.
