Methodology > LINKS "Rapid" Methodology
What is LINKS?
The links RAPID methodology has been specifically
formulated to plan, write and deliver complex systems and give users complete
confidence in the solution.
Links RAPID will allow:
 |
Clear definition of what needs to be done |
 |
Identifying the complex operations and control
procedures involved |
 |
Engaging the users in the project so that they gain a
full understanding and ownership of the system |
 |
Plan and deliver the solution |
|
|
|
|
|
Why does it work?
LINKS RAPID
is intuitive and adopts a rigorous approach to building and delivering the
solution. At each stage a number of agreed checks are verified and shown
to be complete. The whole process is open to review by the business,
audit and technology team; indeed, this is actively encouraged.
The users are involved at each stage especially within
the management and control of the delivery. By doing so the correct
solution will be delivered which meets the business needs.
What are the Key Features?
| Phased Implementation
- Instead of attempting a "big-bank" approach to delivering a solution, a
realistic phased delivery is recommended. This way most of the key
functionalities are delivered very early on.
Quality Check - this will ensure that
the correct solution is delivered. It will also ensure that the technical
and business quality standards are met.
Process Design - a method of detailing
the design and final solution. It details all the screen components, and
actual objects which need to be built.
Test Plans - these are scripts, which
will ensure that the system does precisely what it is built for. It
includes methods of determining the systems performance and integrity of data.
Implementation Plan - this covers all
the tasks, which need to be completed for the final solution to be delivered
into production.
Links TestBase - Internal tool to help
manage the enhancement and testing cycle.
Links Production Procedures System -
System to aid in the development and documenting if real user's procedures
which can be audited and controlled.
