Our Approach

Overview

The Operations world has evolved and changed very drastically over the recent years. Banks have realised the exposure and risks that can be uncovered if they can be exposed to if they do not have system solutions, which enable them to process their deals cleanly.

Gone are the days when huge and complex systems would do everything. These solutions not only take an extremely long time to devise and implement but they also incur great cost and risk of failure. The banking world is fast changing and needs solutions, which can be quickly tried and implemented with the minimum of fuss and maximum business benefit.

What is needed is an approach, which quickly realises the business benefits, and software components, which can readily be used to implement the solution.

These software component (Objects) need to:

	Be fully compliant – such as Y2K and EURO compliance issues.
	Scalable – this enables the particular component to be resilient to increases in volumes.
	Open Standard – this enables the components to interact and behave in an agreed and standard manner.
	Functionality rich.

One tried and tested approach which ILLY Computer Systems has nurtured is of taking a "Tactical approach to building strategic solutions". This in essence means getting both the business and technology teams to focus with the aim of delivering at least 80% of the key business benefits in the very first implementation. By taking this into account and designing the solution, which will enable an incremental phased implementation, the business benefit can be realised early. This also enables the business to evaluate the priority and benefit in phases – this way both the risk and cost can be kept to a minimum.
