Substance Misuse Services in Rural Counties: A Case Study

ILLY Systems are pleased to present a case study of Turning Point in Suffolk. ILLY and Turning Point have been working in partnership since 2006, delivering innovative and creative solutions within Turning Point’s substance misuse services.

Turning Point have been helping people turn around their lives for last 50 years, giving tailored care and support to each individual. They have 250 services throughout England and Wales which are teamed with experts in Substance Misuse, Mental Health, Learning Difficulties and employment.

Turning Point’s contract in Suffolk went live in April 2015, which will extend up to a maximum of nine years. During this period, the Suffolk Recovery Network aims to fully embed their new young person’s model as part of their fully integrated service provision.

The following video features John Carlin, the Senior Operations Manager for the Suffolk Recovery Network and showcases the work Turning Point does within Suffolk. John discusses a range of topics, including what motivates personnel at the service, key priorities and the challenges faced when operating in a rural county.

“Once we are fully set up and delivering the model that was commissioned, we can be innovative and creative, and that’s what inspires me and the managers in the team. ” – John Carlin
